1. Aims and Objective of the Organization:
The main aim and objective of this organization is the inspection and monitoring of work Water Supply and Sewerage System of Sambalpur, Bolangir Rourkela.
2. Mission/ Vision:
To provide drinking water to the people of Sambalpur, Bolangir, Rourkela including their sub-areas (ULBs).
3. Brief History and Background for its Establishment:
Office of the Superintending Engineer, P.H. Circle, Sambalpur has been created vide G.O. No.34787 Dt.10.08.1992.
4. Allocation of Business:
In the above administrative setup, the business of the project is allocated in the following manner.
The Superintending Engineer exercises his powers as per relevant code and superintendence over three divisions (as per organization chart) in matters of works and establishment of the Circle.The executions of works are mainly executed by the Executive Engineers. Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineer in-charge of the works.
5. Duties to be performed to achieve the Mission:
To carry out the survey and investigation, Design and Planning of different Project components, Acquisition of Government, Private and Forest land for project implementation, Rehabilitation of project affected people, Monitoring of progress of work in new projects schemes.
6. Details of Services Rendered:
Implementation and maintenance of the Major and Medium Water Supply Projects including their distribution system to provide drinking water to the people of urban areas of above district.
7. Citizens' Interaction:
Interaction is generally being made with the project affected and benefited people. Demands and suggestions of citizen's for development works are duly considered.

Investigation is being carried out on receipt of grievances. Suitable action as appropriate is being taken after due investigation.
